Slash | Need // Greed |

Can you figure out the difference between Need and Greed?

I saw many people in my life who really need something but later their needs turn into Greed. To figure out that stage where the transformation accelerates, I included these two phenomena in contrast today.

So let’s start!!

Okay, what is Need? How would you define it? You needΒ something, but how would you prove that you’re not greedy for it, but only need to some extent?

Pretty challenging na??!!….

We all are in Needs. Not of a single thing, we need a lot of things for ourselves. We need food and water to survive, shelter to live, clothes to wear, money to trade and so on… Sometimes, we need a shoulder to lean on, when we get exhausted by the strength to fight. (Check out a post on Discovering your happiness).Β Every single day of our life, we all need something to make things better for us and when we got it, it’s just cloud nine feeling…Isn’t it??….. It’s like that’s it, okay…..Now I do not want anything. Thank you so much Jesus…Thank you.

But on the next day, the same old story repeats…πŸ™

Well, the above is the concept of Need, which is natural in us and we all are familiar with it. No Flaw.

Now come to the second phase.

Have you ever heard or read the Greedy Dog’s story??…

Probably, most of us read in 4th or 5th standard, especially Indian audience. This is the perfect example to explain what is Greed. In the story, we see how the dog got entangled in the illusion of his own shadow and lost his piece of meat, which he hardly found from a butcher’s shop. He wanted to make his reward double but couldn’t succeed.

Greed is thoroughly inverse to satisfaction. Being dissatisfied after getting what you were demanding is Greed. Greed is the opposite side (negative side) of Need.

Suppose you need 100 followers more to achieve 10,000 mark. But when you get them, you didn’t enjoy that moment, you didn’t enjoy your victory, Rather, you become dissatisfied that this figure still looks average.

Why this occurred?

Because there’s a Greedy Dog dwelling in your heart…….. After that, you will want 20,000 and the same story will happen if you won’t have changed yourself by the time.

Thinking about to double or triple the reward by without doing any extra effort is the true sign of Greed.

If you aren’t enjoying your little-little achievements, this is the dog who keeping you apart from doing this.

Enjoying means Satisfaction and where is Satisfaction, there’s no Greed. And where is Greed,…… there’s no Satisfaction. Greed drives you to do evil deeds and separates you from the true joy of life, which is Satisfaction. Then you try to find happiness being under the devil of Greed, but how can you find the green grass in the black mud?

Just enjoy those little achievements. Enjoy that moment when you got that for what you were longing for so long. This is the true essence of living life!!

Well, this is all for today’s post. Although, this topic can be extended furthermore in the slash Good Greed // Evil Greed.

Okay, wait,…….

Can you differentiate the Good greed and Evil greed?

I ask all of you.

Okay everyone, give it a try………..

Differentiate the Good Greed and Evil Greed in brief in the comments.

I would really really really thankful to you if you do this…πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ…

Whoever reading this,…Please just try to do this!!.. ☺☺

I’m waiting for your explanations…

πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Thank you so much…❀

Have a nice day!

  1. Well I think good greed is when you’re satisfied and yet want more. For example if I bought a new car, I’m happy about it yet I look forward to saving and say buy a new house. It’s basically setting a new goal after finishing another.
I guess bad will be when I bought the car but am not happy because I’ve yet to purchase a house too.
In my guess the difference is in outlook of life. Being appreciattive of what you have yet striving for more is good because without goals life is meaningless however not being appreciattive and just wanting more is disastrous.

      Very very well Explained…..
      And this is absolutely right..
The Greed for next goals is good,
But Greed for goals being unhappy after achieving one is the form of Evil Greed…

      1. No…..
        Not by this way….
I asked in the post to differentiate two types of Greeds.
As you’re one of my favorite blogger and all time supportive to me.
So I was sure that AT LEAST you will definitely give your definitions on this…
        But you didn’t…
        Which is unexpected for me.

      2. I am sorry that you feel that way! I was just trying to show my support by being appreciative of your efforts – even when I am down with terrible teeth ache (and just underwent a “root canal treatment” today!)
Guess, will do it when I’ll feel a little better and will not be under!
Till then, appreciate the “little joys of life!” πŸ™‹
(At least, I took the time out to comment, right!)πŸ˜‰
And yes, this feels like “evil greed”, ain’t it? 😁

I agree, “virtual communication” isin’t that great and may/may not cause misunderstandings! Tbh, I guess a lot has to do with maturity levels and “faith” that you build in your relationship(s)..
That said, I wish you all the best and hope that you attain your “true love” when the time is right! Everybody does! πŸ™‚

  2. This one is good again.πŸ‘
Moreover, if I differentiate between good and evil greed, then I think, if I am getting greedy in order to help more and more social beings, for their benifits then that’s a good greed. But if in case I am ready to harm any social being just for my sake of satisfaction, then that’s an evil greed. 😐

      1. If I want something or to attain a position or more money just for the sake of others and to help others that is good greed I guess…..
