Some days ago, I read a post from one of my favorite blogger. The post was about the types of violence against women and that post was based on the seventh or maybe sixth type of women violence, which is Female Genital Mutilation.

The Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision, is the ritual cutting or removal of some or all of the external female genitalia. Partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injuries to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

And after reading this, I was obviously shocked because I haven’t heard about this yet. In between, I was regretting that why I opened this blog post ?????… Why ???…. To make myself anxious??….

Huh…. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’…I felt I was better, my mindset was better before reading this.

You open your blog to read something joyful or positive to feel better and suddenly a blog post like this pops up in your reader feed and you start to read. Would you feel relaxed still??…

It is obvious that you can’t control all of the crimes of the world. Neither it is possible. But just think about the people who haven’t know such type of crimes and now they have known. Just like you, they’ll also be in tears. They’ll become a little sad.

Furthermore, I read the comments in that post and many of the people didn’t know about this crime as they wrote in the comments. This thing actually prompted me to write this post from ONE PERSPECTIVE, It isn’t good to share every type of crime in public. People who are facing such things are already in great trauma, and the people who come to know this, become anxious and worried in extra.

So basically, FROM THIS PERSPECTIVE, you are depressing the remaining people who are peacefully living their life. In the end, you write “I fight against FGM”. People have their own fights in life. They’re also fighting. Then which fight should they fight??…. Against FGM or their own fight of Life??….(FROM THIS PERSPECTIVE)

I’m not criticizing here the blogger. I’m actually talking about another point of view. A different one. From the other point of view, It is good. People become more aware of such crimes and they try to stop this as much as they can.

So tell me a thing. What I said here in this post, IS IT TRUE OR NOT??…..

Do you agree or not??….

Please comment here and this is important for whoever is reading this.

Please share your reviews. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thank you.

  1. FGM…I m reading this for the first time.. Seriously when girls itself are not aware of it.. boys are far away…
Well your perspective is acceptable in one angle, but i would go with other way.. Awareness is important..

  2. To answer your question, is such a type of post disturbing, yes. Is it important to have such posts that disturb people?? Yes. You see, people were distributed by what happened to Nirbhaya, and that’s why they took to streets and that’s why reforms have come to make the situation atleast a bit better. Sometimes we should be distributed, because only then do we truly understand what good we have and feel happy and also fight against what’s wrong.
Yes a person’s first focus should be his/ her own problems but in cases like these you never know, it can become your problem one day as well. And at that moment, you would wish for someone to be there and raise voice against these crimes. This isn’t a personal problem, it is a social problem in which a person has become a victim. Social problems should be addressed I believe, not hidden under by the good. Both good and bad must me represented equally.

Wow, I really wrong a long comment. 😝

  3. I sometimes find that a well-written and well thought out post on a ‘negative’ subject can often be more inspiring than a post that’s positive but without substance but that’s just me and the world would be a boring place if we were all the same :O) x

  4. I get your point. But you know the purpose of blogging isn’t just making people happy but it can be anything people like. secondly, I read that post too and commented, because I thought it was the right thing to do.

Once the crime is committed people are in agony and the victim goes through so much pain that cannot be accounted. If people are aware before hand about this crime, they may help to prevent such things before getting severe. Moreover if they come to know any such crime they may understand if only a bit also about the situation the victim is in.

It is about the bigger picture. Simple happiness and distress are trifle issues in front of such crimes.

      1. I think it is hugely important to confront problems in the world. Just because something is difficult to read or terrible to think about does not mean we should block them from our minds or from our feeds. On the contrary, these are things we need to expose and shout about because this is how change happens! By burying our heads in the sand, we are not simply ignoring, we are passively ALLOWING this to happen. Whilst I appreciate some issues are not particularly relevant to certain people and we invest our time and money in different ways, if something has shocked you or upset you, like the issue of FGM has, this is your opportunity to MAKE A STAND and do what you can to make a difference. Even the simple act of making this blog posts has sparked discussion and debate and probably educated someone who had no idea about this subject 5 minutes ago! (So well done for that!!!)

  5. Hi bob…few years before I read about this in a magazine..performing circumcision to girls in some countries…it shook me..because I heard about circumcision performed to boys in particular religion as a ritual..they claim its a purification process..but to girls too they are performing this ritual..its too hard and dangerous to them..because they perform in unhygienic manner..what we can do..there are many activists working hard to do something on that..but as for you asked it will disturb the mind for sure…whether we want to hear it or not..there are so many other things which is happening around the world in the name of tradition and some..just imagine the one who are undergoing all these….but bob there are all type of readers..some want to read only joyous, pleasant posts..while others are having their own interests or curios to read about other kind to…so bob if some contents look displeasing or offensive.. better avoid to read it or if you already read try to forget it..focus on pleasa
